The City of Armadale is located 30 minutes south east of the CBD and has an estimated population of 55,000, which is likely to increase to 85,000 over the next ten years.

The City spans 545 square kilometres and includes the suburbs of Armadale, Bedfordale, Brookdale, Camillo, Champion Lakes, Forrestdale, Haynes, Hilbert, Kelmscott, Karragullen, Mt Nasura, Mt Richon, Roleystone, Seville Grove and Wungong.

Established residential suburbs provide a range of lifestyles from the coastal plain suburbs of Seville Grove and Camillo, the foothills of Kelmscott, Clifton Hills, Mt Nasura and Mt Richon to the picturesque spacious hills environment enjoyed by residents of Roleystone and Bedfordale.

The City boasts a number of recreational pursuits including the world class Araluen Golf Course, Armadale Aquatic Centre, Champion Lakes international rowing course and future white water rafting park and  a range of natural bushland areas suitable for walking.

The City’s jam packed Calendar of Events, which includes a series of Concerts in the Park and an Australia Day fireworks display are also highly regarded by residents and visitors to the area.

Stretching from the plains of the metropolitan area to the hills, the City contains over 1,431 hectares of parks and reserves.

The Armadale city centre is conveniently located at Perth’s major gateway crossroads of Albany and South Western Highways and Armadale Road. Perth’s rail network links Armadale to the Perth CBD, which is just 28km away.

Local industries include retail shops, a brickworks, ‘light’ industry, orchards, tourism and the City’s administrative operations.

The City of Armadale has a relatively young population, with a high proportion of children and young people as compared to the State and Perth metropolitan average. Armadale is home to large numbers of one and two parent families with dependant children. In line with national age trends, the City’s population is aging, with the fastest growth over the past ten years among those aged between 45 and 54, and over 65 years old. Approximately 32,200 residents are entitled to vote in local government elections. The City has 22 primary schools, eight secondary schools and three libraries.
